78 days to go! Fasted cardio!

Today I had to split my session into two as I was out for a meal this evening. This saw the return of FASTED CARDIO!

I haven’t done fasted cardio for around a year but to be honest I quite enjoy it! I am definitely a morning person and find it a great way to start my day!

People believe fasted cardio helps to burn the more stubborn areas of fat too! I haven’t ever done it for a long enough period of time to ever notice a difference but I love the buzz it gives me for the day!

I would recommend supplementing with a BCAA to ensure you do not lose muscle during fasted cardio and I will do a review on my fave vegan versions tomorrow!

The only thing with fasted cardio is it can sometimes make people feel hungrier for the rest of the day!

I survived today without hunger striking, however I did go for a meal where there was tons of vegan goodies such as vegan pie and vegan icecream ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I ate my planned meal before I went and ordered a side whilst out.

I don’t believe in missing out on social occasions just because I cannot eat the food. I still had a great time and it would have been selfish for me to miss a friends birthday!

79 days to go… dealing with negativity ๐ŸŒŸ

Diet and Workout all went to plan today and I even had extra time in the gym, thanks to the dentist cancelling on me last minute ๐Ÿ™„ (hopefully all my teeth don’t fall out before show ๐Ÿคฃ)

I am Trying to keep these diary posts short but I just wanted to touch on something from today!

I posted this photo as a throwback this morning….

And then I received a hella load of comments both from males and females along the lines of:

“why are you losing weight, you looked better before” …..

“you do realise men prefer meat on their girlfriends?!”….

“you looked better before you lost your boobs ๐Ÿ™„”

(Least I still have a bum though ๐Ÿคฃ)

I am fully aware I post a lot on my Instagram and I leave myself open to be judged by people.

By Gosh… competing is guna be just that… standing on a stage and being judged by other people and compared to others aswell ๐Ÿคฃ

The negative comments don’t phase me at all BUT it just puzzles me how people think it’s ok to say things like that!

How I deal with negativity

Looking back at my throwback photo I am about ten million times happier with my body right now. I feel body confident and I am loving my fitness journey and seeing my body change whilst pushing myself and working hard towards a goal.

I won’t lie my friends and my boyfriend may have heard me rant this morning and when the people close to you reassure you, it gives you a massive boost ๐Ÿ™‚

So I will just focus on my positivity and continue to smile.

Skinny girls aren’t for everyone, fat girls aren’t for everyone, muscles offend some, curves entice some but all I know is my body is for me and I am happy!

So if someone seems happy and content with whatever they are doing, think about what you say to them as your negative comment could knock that smile away from their face!

Protein hacks

Just me with all my @rawsportofficial Vegan protein powder! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

People ask me what to do when you get bored of protein shakes! ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Tbf I donโ€™t think I could get bored of @rawsportofficial but I do have a few tips and tricks

1๏ธโƒฃ Try adding herbs and spicea to your shake: I love to add mint into my chocolate shakes. Cinnamon into my toffee shake or chilli also mixes well with chocolate!

2๏ธโƒฃ Add a shit load of ice and you will end up with protein icecream!

3๏ธโƒฃ Add coffee and ice for a protein frappe! @crumpetscoffee toffee is the best with @rawsportofficial toffee!

4๏ธโƒฃ Mix your powder with a lil bit of water to make a protein sauce for your oats!

Hope this helps ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

80 days to go! #bikiniprepdiary

Great day training and diet today!

I was starting to panic last night because I noticed my resting heart rate has been 46bpm for months and I was worried it was too low… but apparently that means I am super healthy ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บ

Proud moment today, my gym reposted my transformation photo!

Today’s Feels

Discipline shouldn’t be seen as a punishment. Welcome discipline and see discipline as your best friend as discipline is what you need to succeed!

Keep Calm… 12 weeks to go! The Power of โ€œWHYโ€

I actually can’t believe I am writing this but I am now just under 12 weeks out from my first ever bikini competition ๐Ÿ™€

I wanted somewhere I could document my fitness journey to the stage so I can look back at it in the future ๐Ÿ™‚ And I am thinking when times get tough and I am hungry, I can sit and write a blog post to distract me ๐Ÿ˜น

I toyed with the idea of “Vlogging” but I’m not too sure whether you are all ready for my monotone voice ๐Ÿ˜น and my OH might kill me if I add making videos of me to the list of things he does for me already, bless him!

Lots of people have commented on my motivation and dedication to the gym lately so I thought this would be a good place to start blogging!

The Power of “Why”

I honestly believe you only stay fully focused on something when your reason why for doing something is really strong.

For example, why do we all get up and go to work every day? ….. because we have the reason that we need to pay bills and buy food.

One of my friends has just set up her own beauty business at home, and her reason why is to be able to spend more time at home with her children!

Another friend worked her bum off to get a job as an air hostess because her reason why is to be able to travel the world!

A work colleague has lost an amazing three stone, her reason why is to look fabulous in her wedding dress!

When you have a reason behind something it helps to drive you towards your goal!

My reasons why

  • I turn 30 this year

Age really is just a number but I am turning 30 next month ๐Ÿ™€

I did the standard thing of trying to come up with a list of things I would like to achieve before I turn 30!

For those of you who have followed me for a while, you will be aware that I have been into fitness and bodybuilding since 2011. I have been to countless shows year in year out and have always had this little dream in my head that I would love to compete.

(Body Power 2012)

I have seen girls become interested in competing long after I became interested and they managed to transform their bodies and compete whilst I was still stuck in a rut!

After watching the UKBFF finals in October last year, I knew I wanted to put my head down and grind and finally make this dream a reality before I got older and perhaps had other things in my life that I would need to prioritise!

I have enjoyed every step of the way so far and love setting myself a challenge!

  • Being Vegan

I have a really strong desire to prove to people that you can gain muscle and lose fat whilst living a Vegan lifestyle!

Yes we are all vegan athletes haha!

I am not a typical animal activist that marches down the streets with a placard telling people to go vegan but I like to think I have a gentle influence on people to encourage them to try a more plant based products.

I would love to be able to show people a good body is achievable whilst being Vegan! I think most people’s stereotype of Vegans is that we are all skinny and weedy!

  • Fitness is a privilege

After my accident a few years ago and being told I would never be able to use my left hand ever again, I truly feel blessed every day to even be able to train ๐Ÿ’– Weight lifting lights my fire inside and makes me feel great!

Fitness is a choice, if it’s not your thing you don’t have to do it but when it is your passion and you have that taken away from you, it really makes me feel grateful I am able to do what I love!

  • Support and Timing

So you might be wondering why I never competed before if I have been interested for so long! I won’t beat myself up and be negative, there have been many reasons.

Sometimes you are not in a position to make fitness and diet your priority and thats totally Ok. Training for a competition is completely different to normal training and takes up a lot of time!

In the past I have had jobs that required me to work long hours or I have been studying for my degree or just enjoyig time with my friends. I am not saying I couldn’t of prepped then, if I really wanted to nothing would have stopped me! But my head was never 100 percent in the game and I was just enjoying that stage in my life.

In the past I have always had supportive boyfriends but I truly believe your partner has to fully understand what you are trying to achieve. I am totally blessed to have found my OH, he doesn’t compete himself but he moves mountains to help me in any way he can. Whether that be driving me to posing lessons, staying an extra hour in the gym to make sure I finish my session, taking my weekly check in photos and missing out on date nights to restaurants!

I always dreaded stepping on stage and being that person that no one cheered for but the amount of support I have now from friends, work colleagues and even stranger friends on social media makes me feel so warm and loved inside!

I also have the best coach and am part of the best team Showgirlfitness!

So I am not only doing it for me, I am doing it for the people who support me and to make them proud of me!

Remember even if you have the strongest reason why in the whole wide world, there will be days where you do not always feel motivated, that is completely normal but staying CONSISTENT is what counts!

I would love to hear your reasons why, whether its fitness, career, family, health related, let me know ๐Ÿ™‚
