Optimum Nutrition Lean Whey

I was lucky enough to receive some samples of Optimum Nutrition’s new launch of protein “Lean Whey”.

Lean Whey is high protein and low carb but is also super good if you are trying to lean up because it contains CLA, L- Carnitine and Green Tea Extract 🙂

My first reaction when I saw the samples was that I was dubious about the flavours. The protein comes in chocolate milkshake, strawberry milkshake and vanilla milkshake flavour. I was curious as to whether they would actually taste like milkshake or if this was just a way to not make them sound like every other standard whey flavour on the market.

I have to inform you, I was wrong to ever have any doubt. They do taste really milkshakey, especially the vanilla flavour which tastes like a thick shake!

So this is how I tried them all…

Strawberry whey mixed with blueberries 🙂

I would definitely buy these shakes as they tasted great and mixed well.

Blueberry smoothie:

1 sachet of Lean Whey Strawberry milkshake flavour

5g Flaxseed

5g Meridan Peanut Butter

30g Blueberries

Half a pint of water

I will post a full review of this product once I have tasted the other yummy flavours, only fair!!!

PROGRESS PICTURES

I am a big fan of monitoring progress using different methods. I know a lot of people say not to use the scales but I probably weigh myself once every few weeks just out of curiosity, I don’t let any results get me down if they aren’t what I am looking for. I check my measurements probably once a month too. The best way I find to check progress and to determine what needs most work is progress pictures.

The problem is if I have had a bad week then I tend to steer away from them, I think I need to get into the habit of taking them weekly no matter what the outcome.

This weeks have been really good and have lifted my spirits. My back seems to have come on a lot even if my stomach and shoulders have gone backwards! This to me is good because I am extra motivated due to my back making progress and then my stomach spurs me on to work harder!

GO NUTRITION SAMPLE PACK

I am so happy with my recent purchase from Go Nutrition, I opted for the Whey Isolate Strawberries and Cream and it’s caused me no tummy troubles and tastes great. Alongside this I bought a sample pack of the Whey Concentrate just so I could try all the crazy flavours. It only cost £5.99 for ten samples and it’s well worth the money. Some of my favourites were Jammy Biscuit, Key Lime pie, Blueberry cheesecake and Rhubarbs and Custards! It feels like a great sweet treat and helps you to beat any sweet cravings.

CHOC SHOT

I saw Michelle Brannan tweet about this product and I luckily found it in my local Tesco. It’s all natural and you can make it into a hot chocolate or I experimented and poured some over some greek yoghurt. Makes a great treat 🙂
